Error cannot delete custom report - Bad argument: {0} [LFF401-BadArgument]

asked on March 2, 2021 Show version history

I am receiving an error on a custom report I was editing.  Now if I try to edit/delete/remove I get the LFF401-BadArgument error.  It is stuck and would like to delete it.  I am attaching a screen shot:

Hi Narciso,

We've seen this error when variable used in report is corrupted somehow. In your case, looks like the report needs to be fixed first then can be deleted.

Could you review the report definition to see whether there is any corrupted field variable? In previous cases, such field variable are in collection/table and shows without a type icon. If any, please try delete the variable from report definition and save and try delete again.

On the other hand, there may be other issues with corrupted process variable. Which version of Forms are you using?

Laserfiche Forms Professional Version 10.4.5.282

The problem is I can no longer open the report for editing. I keep getting the error?  How else may I review the report definition?  I do recall that there is a field variable that on "import of process" said unused variable named "action_taken" , and I should remove at my convenience.  When I try to locate the Unused variable I cannot locate it to delete.  I believe I accidentally selected that variable in my report definition in the drilldown options, since then I get there error and can no longer open/edit/delete the custom report??  Any other suggestions on how to fix this error?

I wasn't aware of that the report cannot be edited at all. As an alternative, you can review all variables in form designer, while it may be hard to identify as the error message is not helpful.

If further help is needed, could you please open up support case with your VAR and provide the uploaded business process XML file?
