Question

Forms - Is Column/Bar Reporting limited to only 17 results

asked on February 11, 2021 Show version history

I am building a Column/Bar report and I noticed that many values which were submitted are missing from the report.

For example I know one was just submitted today where Friend_Family was chosen and it is not in this report.

So in order to narrow down the number of possibilities I added a filter for today's submissions only.

Look at that, there are some of my missing values including Friend_Family

If it is choosing the top 17, how does it choose which ones to show

I tried a summarized report as well and it only returns the top 17 values.

There is a hard code limit to only show the the labels partially when there are more than 20 columns/bars in order to make it easy to view the labels. We are considering to increase the limit to bigger value such as 50 to satisfy most of the cases.

That screenshot is showing a lot more bars than 17 - but it is 17 labels.  Is it possible that it's just not showing all the labels because there is just too many options?  I know reports in some of the Microsoft Products (Excel and Power BI) do similar things when you have too many data points on the axis.

Are you able to hover over the chart and get a helptip popup or something?

Also - please consider editing your original post and changing it to a question instead of a discussion, that would seem to be a better fit and would allow you to mark it as answered once it is resolved.

Your right, there are some more bars then labels, it was easier to count the labels. But lets say there is twice as many bars (and yes mouse over shows each value) it is still missing Friend_Family and many others. I see now that it is organized Alphabetically and only showing answers that start with A and B.

If it can not fit all answers in on graph, then can I just show the counts. In the past the Summarized visualization would just show the data, but now it is a bar graph.
