Does Forms not accept invalid certificates to talk to itself?

posted on February 5, 2021

I am getting this error when trying to archive to the repository. Never ran into this before.

The PDF generator was unable to contact the Laserfiche Forms server. Please ensure your SSL settings are correct. [LFF4112-PdfNetworkError]

aux: net::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID at

It is talking to itself, on the same operating system, what is it using a certificate for and why does it care if it is valid? Certificates only matter when reaching out to external services, to verify you are talking to who you think you are talking to.

Hi Chad,

If you are using Forms 10.4.5,  please check 'Accept invalid certificate when generating PDF' in 'Forms Server' tab of Forms configuration site to accept the certificate. The certificate is required in 3-rd party tool for generating PDF saved to repository.

I am on a slightly older version, may need to upgrade to get this feature? It is odd given how rampant invalid certificates are out there and I never had the system not able to archive because of it.
