Question

Question

Is there a way to find where folder shortcuts have been placed?

asked on January 21, 2021 Show version history

Example:  I have three different "file" categories (A, B, & C)- My folder in A needs to know that the corresponding folders in B & C exist (these are not duplicates of the same folder, but related issues).  We use shortcuts for easy reference (placing shortcuts for B & C in the A folder).

I'm trying to find an easy way to know (when the B or C folder is opened) that there has been a shortcut pasted into A.

We also might paste a shortcut into another folder - for assignment or short term follow up etc.  So there may be 4 shortcuts for the B or C folder in different locations.  Is there any way to easily locate all of the shortcuts?

so the main objective is to find shortcuts created in folder A that are from folders B and C???

on-premise has search repository for shortcuts activity

so maybe .. search for shortcuts given folder A path and create branch logic for adding tags or metadata field or even just checking the path for those particular shortcuts that you queried have the same path as folders B and C .. when you search for shortcut you should be able to get the original path/info of that entries that were created as shortcuts from B and C folder.
