Having issues with Users using "Read Only" Web Client

Not sure if this is the right place so I apologize in advance. We are having an issue where we want to set up a new user that ONLY has read only rights (browse) and wants to use the web client only (no need to edit etc). When we set them up in the repository and set them to read only, they cannot log into the system says not enough licenses. When I look at the settings for the server it says we have Unlimited licenses for "Total Public Portal Licenses". What am I missing? I did find this document and of course it did not work:

If the Laserfiche Server does have a Public Portal license, but the user is not marked as read-only and does not have a named user license, they will not be able to log in, as they are not configured to use the Public Portal license. This issue can be resolved by marking the user as read-only so that they can use the Public Portal license, or granting them a named user license."

When I add a license for Laserfiche to that user they can log in. (So it doesn't match the excerpt above).

To use Public Portal Licenses, they need to access Laserfiche through Weblink which is separate from WebAccess/Webclient

Wanted to report back I got it working with your guidance. Thank you so much. Had to create a new website that allows login (no autologin). Thanks for the guidance! Now onto the next ticket!

Correct. (I think) :)

They are using https:\\servername\Laserfiche

Is that the correct one?

https://servername/Laserfiche is the full web client and not a read only. You need to have WebLink installed and the default url is https://servername/WebLink/

OHHHHH. Thank you for that Sorry I am new to the Laserfiche Admin (got it dumped on me yesterday and got all these wonderful tickets assigned to me!) Soooo with this... when I do this link (it happens to be http://servername/Weblink8/ here, it auto logs in using a reader account. (I Know right!)

Is there a url that forces it to not autologin?

WebLink has multiple configuration modes. See the help file for a more detailed description.

If this is the first user with this setup, you may have to add a repository configuration that does not require auto-login to generate the URL the user will use to log in. If there is an existing setup, then you'll be able to get the URL from the WebLink Designer. (It sounds like the first repository configuration is set to auto-login and that gets loaded by default when you hit the server)
