Using Laserfiche Cloud

Hello, I apologize for the potentially confusing title. I have searched a few ways for this answer but I think I am doing either something wrong or trying something that may not be possible.

I am attempting to use a selected list of documents I find doing a templated search to change or add their records properties. If one of the list of documents selected has not been established as a record by changing their properties I get the following message: "One or more of the selected entries are not records." If all the selected documents have established record properties and I choose either edit properties or <more><records> I get a status: indeterminate and then nothing happens. How can I bulk modify the records properties?
