QF Web Admin Console - HTTP 503 Error

asked on January 11, 2021

Hello,

Trying to work with a customer to launch QF Admin Console from the server and getting HTTP 503 Service is unavailable.

We notice that the QuickFieldsAppPool was stopped so we restarted the service, but same error and the service stopped again.

Changed the QuickFieldsAppPool to use Local System, restarted, but same error, but now the QuickFieldsAppPool does not stop running.

I don't see anything in the Windows->Application Event Log.

Any Pointers greatly appreciated.

  • Was it working and then not, or is this a new setup?

Either way, check the QuickFields Server Configuration Utility first. If it's set up to run as "Local System" then match your application pool to run as a local system. If it's running as a service account, then make sure your IIS App Pool reflects the service account. Whichever is configured - the QF server in services should also reflect the same user.

After that, make sure the database can be signed in with the SQL account from the configuration utility. If this is a new set up, you'll want to ensure the SQL account has rights to CreateDB so QF can create necessary tables and such.

Hello Son Le,

Thanks for the reply.

After checking settings you suggested, and a few other things, the issue looks to be with the IIS URL Rewrite module.

I have a case with Laserfice Support to investigate.
