How does Workflow report it's completed status to Forms?

When selecting to Wait for Workflow to finish in Forms, how does workflow report this status?

I have the first situation where this is not working, the workflow status becomes "Completed" but forms still says In Progress. What is Forms waiting for before it knows the workflow is completed?

Without any errors in the interface, the logs, or the configurators and the ability to Start Workflows and Forms processes, and to retrieve forms values I see that they have everything configured.

Where is the trigger that reports completed workflows?

Workflow will call back Forms when the instance completes. If anything interferes, Workflow calls back on a step-back timer until either the call is successful or the number of retries is exceeded.

Look in the WF Admin Console under Failed Instance Completion. If your instance is listed there, Workflow could not successfully contact Forms and there should be an error listed as well as the next retry time. If it's not, then Workflow notified Forms.

Ah! I see them, there is an error in here for each one that ran, but it just says Unable to connect to the remote server.

Where do I go to check their remote server configuration?

I would need to see what server it is referencing to ensure it is the server which started the workflow, and which port it is using to ensure it can get through. Who knows with today's environments.

The remote server would be the Forms server in this context.

But it says it is unable to connect to it. In order to troubleshoot I would need 2 critical pieces of information.

The name and IP it is using to contact the server

The port it is trying to connect over

Without this there is nothing I can do to help it. The forms server is not obviously down, the same workflow server is even successfully starting forms processes, although it uses a specific configuration for this where I can set the server name.

I started a support case, there is just nothing I can do here as a user. The error is not specific enough. I have pulled up every answers post on this subject, found about 4, they all had to reach out to support and did not follow up with what the solution is.

I found the port it is trying to use to contact forms. How do I change this port? I need it to be 443. Still waiting on support to get back to me.

I looked over the entire configuration for a completion callback configuration, there is nothing.
