SAML Identity Provider - Not listed in Directory Server

Hello,

I just upgraded from 10.4.2 to the latest v10.4.5 - thinking I'll fix this issue, but it's still not resolved with the update.  We're on Avante, the latest version.

I'm following the whitepaper on how to configure SSO via SAML and Azure AD but when I go to add a new identity provider in the directory server, I only have three options. None of which is a SAML option. We already have regular AD setup and it is working fine but I would prefer switching over to Azure AD for future identity management. 

Is there a configuration somewhere that enables the option for the identity provider needed or is this not available for on-prem/Avante model?

Hi Son,

Unfortunately SAML identity provider functionality is not included with Avante licensed systems, so in this case it is expected behavior for SAML to be missing from that drop down.

Thanks, Chase. I appreciate the confirmation so that I'm not going crazy looking for it. Do you happen to know if this is in the works and if it's going to be inclusive in the Avante package in the future?

 

Could we also add the "requirements" section in these whitepapers? It would seem if this is only available for Rio or other versions, it would have saved some time.

SAML will not be included out of the box for Avante licenses in the future but it can be purchased with the Enterprise Identity Management add-on or by upgrading your license to Rio.

As far as the SAML whitepapers go, that is a good point and I'll relay that to the team.

Good Afternoon Chase, 

We have a client who might be interested in the Enterprise Identity Management add-on. Is that a SoD request of can it be quoted in the OMS?

Hi Zachary,

I was mistaken in saying that the Enterprise Identity Management add-on could be purchased for Avante systems to get SAML, my apologies. SAML is included with Rio and Subscription (Business and Enterprise tiers) licensing, and customers will need to use one of those licensing options to get SAML functionality.

If you are still interested in the EIM add-on, you can make a special order request as OMS will not show it.
