LaserFiche Services dump file

asked on January 5, 2021 Show version history

Hi,

We noticed C drive space keep shrinking, and when we investigate we noticed LaserFiche Service create a large size dumps which I don't believe it is a good thing, I asked our VAR to open a ticket but in the meanwhile, anybody have an idea what might be the reason?

I attached some of the logs, I renamed the file and added .txt at the end just to uploaded.

These should be correlated with a Laserfiche service unexpected crash. Check the event viewer logs at the file creation datetime to see if there is any quick information.

These are usually hard faults though, caused by hardware errors, so you have to analyze the files contents for the exact details on what failed which is a bit tricky. There are many articles on how to read a minidump file though.

You are correct, by correlating the files with logs we noticed that LF have issue with its search index, and LaserFiche support confirmed it.

Deleting and creating Search Index fixed the issue and we deleted the logs files and freed up storage space.

Sounds good, I have seen the database for the search index needs to be re-built in many cases. It reminds of dBase files, which always had to be re-built once in awhile too.
