Forms Issue- Windows Updates

asked on December 21, 2020

Hello,

We have a customer who is getting the following error on Forms Instances->User Tasks->Email.

Unable to send an email. Please contact your system administrator. [LFF2000-EmailSubmissionFailure]

In the event log I see the following:

[500]: The value of variable "Laserfiche.Forms.Api.DataContract.RoutingParticipant" is not set. The email address cannot be found without it.
Function: GetEmailOfRecipientList
This issue started to happen the day after Windows Updates were applied to the server.

We tested the email configuration in the Forms Configuration with no error.

Has anyone else had issues with Form Email Instances related to Windows Updates.

Appreciate the feedback,

Jeff Curtis

Hi Jeff

This error just means that the participant user does not have an email set. If they login and click their name on the upper right, they can access their account and set an email. Or if it is Active Directory controlled it has to be entered into the email field.

You can verify what the system shows for their email address only by query of the database, under the users table.

Hey Chad,

Thanks for the update.

They sync via AD and the addresses are showing up in LFDS as well as the cf user table in SQL.

They made a DC change a few weeks back, but that was updated in the Forms config without issue.

Still scratching my head with this.

Try re-assigning the same person to the task. I have a constant issue with one environment where it says it can not find the person's account, I am able to re-assign the same exact person each time (which normally you are not allowed to do) then it continues along just fine.

It is as if their account is being disabled and re-enabled in random intervals.

Hey Chad,

Tested and still no luck.

I am going to open a case with LF Support.
Thanks for the help.

Hi Jeff, did LF support ever get to the bottom of why this happened to you?
And any chance of sharing the fix?
