LFcloud Feature Request OR Bug?: Override default values when setting blank field values

asked on December 21, 2020 Show version history

The Laserfiche On-Prem system, when using workflow's 'Assign Field Values', in the Advanced Properties there is an option to override default values that looks like this:

In my experience when using this, the field can be removed from an entry if there is no value in it.  This is useful as it will only keep the extra fields if there is a value in it.

In the LFcloud this advanced option does not seem to exist.  So, via workflow, when you take an entry that has TemplateA assigned then assign TemplateB (this template contains some different fields compared to TemplateA), TemplateA's fields are still left in the unassigned to a template list of fields at the bottom (see screenshots).

Example - TemplateA

Then assign TemplateB:

Based on your scenario, I think you want this option:

Thanks Miruna,  I tried this, but it did not work.

I do know that Self-Hosted when you use the checkbox it does work.

I too have run into this same issue.  In my case, I am creating a workflow for a client that adds a non-template field that the workflow waits on a change made to it.  This lets the client confirm the metadata from Capture Profile is correct before filing.  However, I can not find a way to remove this field after the filing is complete as it is no longer needed at that point.

I tried the below with the field selected and also not selected, same result.
