Question

Image looks mirrored when saved to repository from LFForms

asked on December 15, 2020

This does not happen for all PDFs, just sometimes, when a PDF is attached to a form in LFForms, it'll get saved to the repository, and then once in the repository, if you open it up, the image looks mirrored.

Any idea what could cause this?

Hi Addison,

There is a known bug in shared pdf service library that importing documents to repository without 'Import monochrome images' enabled may flip and mirror the generated image. Currently Forms doesn't support this option, so the issue may happen when save to repository with certain pdfs.

We are waiting for the fix on the shared library.

Yes, I actually found this clue in another question on the Answers site. I was able to go into Import Agent, find the applicable workflow that these flipped images seem to be associated with, and check off the "import monochrome images" box. This seems to have done the trick!

Thanks!

@████████ Do you know if this "bug in shared pdf service library" has been fixed, and if so, in what versions of Laserfiche products has it been incorporated?

I'm assuming it's a library used in multiple products given the references I've seen in Answers involving Forms, Import Agent, and Windows Client.
