Difference between generate pages in Import Agent and Quick Fields

asked on December 9, 2020

Hello, I am wondering what the difference is between generating pages with Quick Fields and generating pages with Import agent?

The reason I ask is that is because I'm getting different behavior from the 2 applications. I have my faxes coming into Laserfiche automatically now because I can send them to a hot folder for Import Agent to monitor. I don't have a lot of control over the fax program so I'm limited to PDF's at a low resolution. No big deal because I'll just have Import agent create pages at 300 dpi.

The problem is that they are not being created at 300 DPI. I have no idea why. So I thought I would try QF and see if it's an issue with the PDF's themselves. After setting up a quick session and pulling the same PDF's with universal capture and set it to generate at 300dpi, it worked as expected.

It's important to get the dpi correct because we have workflows that add text boxes and annotation and I use custom location to make sure their placement is correct. Why would Import Agent have different results than QF?

QF = 10.3.0.108

Import Agent = 10.3.1.479

Hi Lucas,

I made some simple tests on IA 10.4.0.155, after importing a PDF file, the dpi of generated images are 300 (below screenshot), which is the same as my setting. Can you upgrade the Impoer Agent and see if the issue is solved?

Hello Tianxia, that looks like it worked. I updated IA and reran my PDF and now they are scaling to 300 DPI as I wanted. Thanks for the help.
