Connector Profile Error - Writing the value to the control "%(token name)" failed because the value is not valid

asked on December 9, 2020

Hi there,

I'm keep getting this error when I'm trying to create a connector profile for Write data to an application. I'm trying to get information from LF Windows Client, retrieve a field value from opened Laserfiche document, and write it to another program. Each time I get to test it I get this error.

How can I curb this? We are using 10.2 LF client and 10.3 LF connector.

Thank you very much!

Which methods you're using to analyze the target application? Have you tried Javascript? What is the target application?

Yes I used Javascript, it recognizes the field but doesn't put the value in the field and give this error. Target application is a program called Wireless Warehouse in a Box.

Profile Action: Write data to an application

Get Information: The Laserfiche Windows client

Retrieve Fields: Make Laserfiche fields available as tokens in this profile

Write Controls: As in the pic (with javascript)

When I test it, it gives that error.

To diagnose it further I recommend opening a support case. Please attach the log files of Laserfiche Connector with above information to the support case.

Thank you will do. To confirm it is this the page that I should use to opening a support case? or somewhere else?
https://secure1.laserfiche.com/Forms/LfConnectorAppTests

Thanks Tianxia!

No problem, Onur.

This is the form to file Connector compatibility, rather than the page to open a support case. Please contact your Solution Provider to open a support case.

Hi Tianxia, I opened a support case with my solution provider, they suggested me to fill the connector compatibility form that we talked about earlier. I submit that form from here https://secure1.laserfiche.com/Forms/LfConnectorAppTests on Dec 18,2020 but never heard anything yet or received any confirmation, How long it usually takes would you be able to advise please? Thanks!

Hi Onur, I checked the support case 214298, the support engineer asked some questions and has been waiting for responses since 12/22/2020. I also checked the form you submitted but I haven't found the log and XML files. Please provide information that the support engineer requested and also provide the following information: the log and XML files from the Connector test utility, and it would be better to record a video to show the issues.

The help file on how to use the test utility: https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/Connector/Content/TestUtility.htm

Hi Tianxia,

I took the print out after I submit the form you can find them attached. I submitted the log file and xml too. I didn't receive any email from the engineer or any confirmation email that I submitted this. I'm assuming the form I submitted never reached to Laserfiche.

Let me know if I need to re-submit it again. Thanks

Hi Onur, Thank you for your detailed information! We find the log and XML files now (it was put under the succeeded folder rather than failed cases). Sorry about that.

Unfortunately, the current Connector does not support your request. Sorry for the inconvenience.

In general, we'll check all requests from all customers periodically. If there are several similar requests for the same app, we potentially will consider to plan it.

Hi Onur,

Could you please re-submit the forms and provide the following files to us? It would be better if you could let us know which control you grab with Connector TestUtility.

  • The screenshot of your application
  • The screenshot of the error when testing with Connector TestUtility
  • The new log
  • The new xml tree files

Thanks,

Qinmei

Hi Qinmei,

Thank you for follow up. We realize that our Connector went to Runtime only version despite we have the full license so we are following up with our provider now. When this is resolved, I'll re-submit the form and let you know. Thank you!

Thanks for the information. As Tianxia mentioned, in general, we'll check all requests from all customers periodically. If there are several similar requests for the same app, we potentially will consider to plan it.
