I have been getting complaints from my users about the ease of printing with Web Access. They don't like it! The perception is that it takes way too many clicks and if you want to print multiple documents at once, well, that is horrible.
My situation is that we are storing training documents in Word format in Laserfiche now and tracking versions and getting everyone access. So far everyone loves it. Recently they needed to print a large amount of them and what my user said was "It took almost 9.5 minutes to print from Laserfiche and about 4 minutes to print from the shared drive." I'm trying to get people away from using shared drives so currently folks are not happy.
My question is, what would be the best approach to getting the ability to print multiple documents at one time to be easy.
1. WEBDAV? I'm unsure of this because I would have to tell people to go to a different place when they want to print documents. Plus it would look just like a network folder and people will then question why are we using Laserfiche?
2. Laserfiche Client? Seems like I can select multiple documents and then print and they all open in Word and start printing automatically. The downside is I'm trying to get my users all on web access.
3. Business process? This was what I pictured in my mind. Selecting multiple documents and then starting a BP that would download the files to a temp folder, open them in Word, and automatically start printing like in the client. Is this possible? How would I accomplish this? What API calls would I need Workflow to do?
