Desktop Client Crash

asked on November 30, 2020

I have two users experiencing an issue where when a document is trying to be viewed, the desktop client crashes. It doesn't do it all the time but I cannot figure out what is causing this and how to fix it. One user is working remote from home on a VPN and the other is working from the office on our secured network. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the client but it still crashes when the document viewer is open. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Generally the best way to troubleshoot this kind of crash is to open a support case so that we can get a crash dump. You also might want to check the support site for a hotfix in case you are running an outdated version of the desktop client.

User is still having the issue. How do I open up a support case?

Hello Daniel,

If the crash is related to PDF's there was an issue with an Adobe update on 11.3.2020, that was causing issues with the LF Client to crash.

As Robert stated, a Support Case should be opened, as LF Support would like track these types of issues.

Best of Luck,

Jeff Curtis
