Is it possible to connect to the lookup table through javascript?

Hello,

I have been working on a preview feature through the JavaScript section of forms and have hit a wall.

We have information on a database that is connected through Laserfiche Forms, is there a way to connect to it through JavaScript and Laserfiche? (can't connect to the database via a server connection)

or

is there a way to know when a lookup is completed through JavaScript?
