Question

Question

What is the quickest way to learn Forms?

asked on November 10, 2020

Hi everyone,

I've been tasked to automate our contracts process.  I attended a Laserfiche Conference in 2017 and learned about Forms, but haven't had any training on it.

I already have my contracts and or forms in Word.  Is there a way I can upload my Word documents into Forms, then create the Workflow process (which I also have no training in)

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

there's no way to upload your Word documents to create a Laserfiche form.  Since you have some exposure to forms from Empower, I'd recommend the online Laserfiche Aspire training sessions to get up to speed.

I agree with Craig that the Aspire courses are a great place to start.  It would be good to take both the Forms and Workflow courses as it will help you get an idea of which tool is best to use at different steps in your process.   Also check the Business Process Library in Forms so you can get ideas from others in how they have handled a similar process.

Thanks Paul.  I'll look at that too.

I have multiple 20 page contracts that I need to add. Do you know if you can copy and paste into Forms?

You can copy and paste but it depends on what your goal is.

For example, if the contract had to be formatted a certain way (e.g how you have it in Word), you could use Forms to collect some of the specific info (e.g. names, dates, etc) and then pass it to workflow where it could populate a Word template.

Here's a great example from CDI...
