Question

Change admin user for workflow admin console

asked on November 10, 2020

I haven't been able to find out how to change the admin account for the workflow admin console so I can change permissions etc.  How do I add/change the admin account for workflow?

In order to see/change the permission that Manuel specified above, you need to run the WF Admin Console from a computer where you're logged in with an account that has that access (WF Admin Console connects with the underlying Windows account logged in on the machine from which you launch it).

If you're unable to see/change those permissions when running the WF Admin Console from your computer, or when logged into the WF server and running it from there, then the best option is to run the WF Admin Console from the server when logged in with a local Administrator account. From there, you should be able to see/change the permission as needed.

User is an admin on the server but I get this when going to the Permissions and Rights section under Security.

This indicates that the "Permissions & Rights" in Workflow have been altered by someone else before you, and only specific accounts have access to that section. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell who does/doesn't have access, since your account and the local admin on the server apparently do NOT have access.

Your back is somewhat against the wall here, as you'll have to find someone that DOES have access to that section in order to modify it (perhaps a previous Laserfiche Admin or IT person from your organization).
