Question

Email Archive Configuration with Gmail

asked on October 30, 2020

Hi,

Using Laserfiche Email Archive Service 10.4.0.113

I was wondering if anyone has got the Email Archive program working with Gmail.

Below is a picture of my settings.  I've tried it with a folder at the root of the mailbox's directory (and in this example - with the Inbox) but nothing happens.

Gmail Account Setup - Account works with Outlook using Google imap server settings.

I see this error in the Event Viewer:

"Error occurred when request server in profile 'EmailArchiveCESD'. S22.Imap.BadServerResponseException.

Message: * QUOTA "" (STORAGE 519 7881299347898368)

StackTrace:    at S22.Imap.ImapClient.GetQuota(String mailbox)
   at S22.Imap.ImapClient.GetMailboxInfo(String mailbox)
   at Laserfiche.EmailArchive.WrappedImapClient.GetMailbox(String mailbox, LFMailboxInfo parentFolder)
   at Laserfiche.EmailArchive.ImapEmailSourceProvider.WorkerThreadRun()"

Does anyone have suggestions?  I'm wondering if this is something that only works with Exchange or Office 365 or if I'm missing something else.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi Paul,

From the message, it seems the there is error when parsing the response from Gmail. And Laserfiche uses a 3rd-party library for IMAP protocol, after investigating the code a bit, I guess the issue is caused by the storage. And number 7881299347898368 for available storage is too big to be parsed the IMAP library. Do you have chance to configure the quota for Gmail smaller?

Thanks Huazhen.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way for me to set a limit or quota on the mailbox (or at least none I'm aware of).

I appreciate you for looking into this.

I tried this using an Office 365 account and it worked.  If anyone gets Gmail working, please let me know.  Too bad Google Workspace seems to be ignored by Laserfiche.
