Import Agent Folder Metadata

Is there a way to specify in the Import Agent config to only apply metadata to the folders and not the documents when it is imported?

Hi Blia,

 

There is no way to do this with Import Agent alone, but you could import the documents with Import Agent and have a workflow assign the metadata to the parent folder, and even strip the metadata from the documents if you so wish.

 

Although the whole point of Laserfiche to have document metadata, so I'm a little confused as to why this would be a requirement.

Hi Doug,

 

Thanks for the response.  The folders are for our cases which have a different template than for our documents.  When importing, we want the template to be applied to the folder first and will then will use workflow to assign metadata to the documents after import.
