We are a new customer trying to use the Laserfiche App from mobile devices from a link within our our ESRI program LSMapper to open Drawings.   we have Windows and IOS users needing access to the same drawings in Laserfiche.   Testing results:

  • iOS   Safari – have to log in with domain\username
  • Chrome – have to login with domain\username or request desktop site to get Windows Authentication option
  • iPadOS    Safari – can use Windows Authentication option, or login with domain\username
  • Chrome – have to login with domain\username or request desktop site to get Windows Authentication option
  • On the mobile web client on an iPhone, it does give you the option to open in the app but only in Safari (but again, the app appears to crash when it tries to open, but if you double tap your home button the app is there and when you open it back up and login, it doesn’t take you to the link).
  • There is no option to open in the app from the mobile web client in Chrome.
  • There is no option to open a Laserfiche link in the app on an iPhone (Whether the link is in an email or in one of our mapping web apps)
  • On an iPad, there is no option to open in the app from the web client in either Safari or Chrome. There is no option to open a link in the app on an iPad (Whether the link is in an email or in one of our mapping web apps).
  • Our mobile users will primarily be using iPads when accessing Laserfiche.

We've been working with our implementation vendor on this issue for a few weeks.  He recently pointed out that in order to open links directly to the web client, the link must be an .lfe file.    That won't work for us since we have Windows and IOS users & this file type won't work for both.

Our workaround:  will use the browser vs the app for now.   Thought App would be cleaner and easier to use.

Our implementation partner suggested we enter an enhancement request for this to be considered in the future.
