Question

Error 6000 "File name less than 260" & "directory name less than 248" is no longer a Windows limitation

asked on October 28, 2020

Prior to Windows 10, it was more difficult to work around the file name, directory name and file path limits. However, Windows 10 makes it very easy to disable the character limit and file path limit.

Unfortunately, LaserFiche does not seem to respect the setting in Windows 10 nor does it seem to have an option to adjust it's own setting.

Am I missing something or is Laserfiche still unable to export longer file names and file paths if Windows 10 has been enabled to do so? If Laserfiche has not been updated to correct this problem, is there an ETA on when the system will be corrected to do so?

This is a known issue that we are looking to fix for an upcoming release, but I don't have an ETA. For reference the bug is #251683.

Thanks Robert! I'm happy to hear that it's an issue you guys are already working on. It would have been more awesome if it was already fixed but glad to know it's at least "in the works" so to speak.
