Question

Paths executed multiple times after inclusive gateway

asked on October 22, 2020

I have multiple paths merging at inclusive gateway. After that, i have 1 outflow path. For some reason the outflow path runs multiple times instead of just once after the inclusive gateway. Any thoughts please?

What version of Forms are you on? and can you post an image of the process?

Could be a bug based on how you branched or any split flows within the branch.

Thanks. We are on 10.4.2.381. I have attached process diagram image. It is after the Inclusive Gateway at bottom, it goes to Supervisor step multiple times. I will look to see if there are any bugs in the flow.

Thanks

Priya

Can you check the instance history is the exclusive gateway before the inclusive gateway is executed right before the inclusive gateway? We have a known bug with such design that the steps after the inclusive gateway will be execute multiple times and this bug is targeted to be fixed in next release version.

It will run twice since there are two inflows that are satisfied prior to hitting the inclusive gateway.

I've found using a parallel gateway will wait for both.

I understand that inclusive should do the job here but what I do is use parallel gateways.

In my opinion this could be a short term solution for you.

Instead of paralleling out to more than one simply do something like this:

This gateway will wait for both the paths before continuing instead of executing it twice.

HOPE this can help you out.
