Some users reported that they were able to get a number to show next to their unassigned tasks, so that they could see if they had any tasks, but have since lost the feature. Is there an option somewhere to show this?

Oh man that notification service is always acting up, wonder why the website can't just count tasks in the database and show a number. I will check the notification service but it is always throwing errors in every version we have ever installed.

Looks like this post has some tips to hack it, will check it out.

With Notification Service, the tasks count and tasks list will be automatically updated when a task is added/completed by others.
