Many documents coming into Laserfiche systems are PDF files. I'd like to request better ways of handling those files.
1) Depending on the type of PDF file, don't generate pages. When files are scanned from a copier it makes sense to generate pages to extract the images and/or OCR for full text search. But if a PDF is a vector-based digitally native file, we should just extract text and not have the overhead of page generation
2) For PDFs in Laserfiche, it would be great if we could annotate or markup PDFs using the web access interface and not relying on a third party app like Acrobat. We have customers that have to process documents such as invoices or cases. When they're scanned with LF Scanning they can use the native markup tools but when they're imported as a PDF they either have to generate pages or use a third party tool to markup.
If you have any suggestions I'm open to hearing them as well. Thanks!
