We have a current RIO customer that has run into some critical server errors. Rather than spin up new servers they are looking to move this implementation to the Cloud. They currently have limited access to their repository so we will be looking to move this project along quickly. I have limited experience with this process so I just want to confirm all of the research I have done.
The current RIO system includes 25 users and workflows and forms that will need to be moved.
- From what I have read the Cloud users will need to be created first and they are mapped to the RIO users using the Cloud migration utility – is that correct?
- By doing this mapping will all of the security attributes carry over from the RIO system or do they need to be rebuilt?
- Can we use a CSV file to import all of the users? Or would we be able to synch these users with an Active Directory group?
- Are existing security groups taken care of with the utility or will we need to rebuild the groups?
- The current repository is just under 900 GB – how long do you think the utility would need to transfer that volume of data?
- Can the Audit data be transferred or is this a fresh start when you get to the Cloud?
- Does the migration utility migrate the existing workflows and forms? If so how much configuration is needed to get them working in the Cloud?
- Prior to moving the workflows and forms – would they need to terminate anything in process on the RIO system? Is there a way to pick these back up once everything is in the Cloud? Do you transition their workflow and forms DBs or is this a rebuild from scratch?
I’d appreciate any guidance you can provide.
