Question

Public User does not see the "custom links"

asked on October 7, 2020

Hi,

We are configuring Weblink with "Auto-login with Laserfiche credentials" log in, but when I auto-login in WebLink, the "Custom Links" do not appear.

This is the expected behavior? How can we show the "search forms" with auto-login?

Welcome page with "Prompt for Laserfiche credentials":

Welcome page with "auto-login with Laserfiche credentials":

Any ideas? Thanks!!

Hi Jacob,

Yes, same behavior. I opened a case and apparently it is a bug that happens when updating to weblink 10.2.

The solution would be to do a redirect with the IIS, but I don't have the knowledge in IIS to do it.

I'm going to try and let you know.

Hi Luis,

I don't have a solution for you yet, but I was able to replicate this in my test environment. I have a custom search form and a custom link to a folder configured to display on my welcome page, but neither of them show if I'm auto-logging in with Laserfiche credentials. I can see both of them if I manually login to Weblink with the same credentials.

I tried it with 2 different users - one with full rights and privileges to the repository and one with limited rights. I get the same behavior with both sets of credentials. I'll see if I can figure out why! Since no one had responded yet, I figured I'd let you know that I can make the same thing happen.

Okay, I don't know why this is working for me, but if I browse to http://servername/weblink on my internal network, I get the same behavior you described when auto-logging in with Laserfiche credentials.

However, if I browse to "http://servername/weblink/Welcome.aspx?dbid=0&repo=RepositoryName" with auto-login configured, the custom links are displaying properly. You'll need to change that URL to reference your actual repository name, and the "dbid=0" may need to be modified if you have multiple repositories configured in Weblink.

Let me know if you see the same behavior.

I'd try to link the dbid and repo URL instead because I wouldn't want to mess with creating a rewrite URL, either :)  But, I don't know your situation and you may be stuck with the rewrite URL route.

Hello,

I am seeing this issue on my end and was curious if anyone had set up the rule in IIS? If so would they be willing to share that rule?

Regards,

Hi Drew Ferrell.

We were unable to properly configure the rule in IIS.  We give a complete URL to public users.
