Question

Weekly scheduled report - outdated if the link is followed the next day.

asked on October 6, 2020 Show version history

I have only just realized that the new weekly "in progress" reports that I have been scheduling for our users is out of date the instance the report is sent.  It is only a snapshot of what was true at the time the report was scheduled to be sent.

Is there another setting that can be used so that the link that users follow will include ALL "in progress" when they finally open their reports to check out what is currently "in progress"?

OH!  Another option?  For those users that find it difficult navigating to the report through the Custom Reports tab, maybe I could give them a shortcut to the report?  Does anyone know how to create a shortcut to a specific LF Forms report, maybe saved to a desktop?

The scheduled report will only take snapshot of the instances status at the time the snapshot is generated, it won't provide live data.

You can open the custom report and copy the URL in the browser address bar and share that URL with the users and the user can bookmark the URL after they open the link you share with them.

Okay, so there's no way to get a shortcut on your desktop that would make accessing this report really fast?

(I know, it's really not hard to find after opening LF Forms, but I have some users that are extremely resistant to learning anything new.  One of them is a supervisor and he is only comfortable finding what he needs by accessing shortcuts on his desktop.)

Okay, I just found another way that I think this supervisor will find easier to review his status report:

I copied the URL as Xiuhong suggested and then went to MS Teams, which our office is using more and more this year.  In my Forms Creation channel for this Service Request process I am building, I hit the + sign for a new tab and added the WebPage URL there.  Once you sign in at that location, the report is right there!!

So, I will be building a Team for Service Requests once testing is complete and one of the tabs will be this WebPage option that I can train the team to use.  This I think will work for all of them, even the ones that are not comfortable using new software!
