Question

directory Server disable cluster

asked on September 29, 2020 Show version history

Hi,

A user who has been using Laserfiche Rio on Failover Cluster wants to disable Failover clustering and utilize a single servers in a DR environment. My question is how do I go about disabling Cluster in Directory Server given that this is said to be irreverseable?  What other factors, if any, do I need to consider when removing the Failover configuration? Thanks

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Could you not just de-activate the current LFDS master license, and re-license it on the new single server with a brand new site?

Granted you'll have to regenerate all the licenses for everything, but you'd have to do that anyway if you moved the LFDS server.

Cheers!

Hi Chris,

One more concern. How will I retain the user accounts if I reinstall the LFDS. It will be a lot of work to key in 260 users again. Is there a better way to migrate the users into the new site?

Hi Mark,

If the users are part of an AD group, then you can simply sync the users using an identity provider sync rule, and they will all automatically be added.

If they are LFDS users, then you can export them and import them into the new system using the native import/export functions.

Hope this helps!
