Enhancement Request: Ability to Search Values in Drop-Down Fields in Forms

The funny part about this request is that the feature is being used within the interface of Forms in different places. When an end-user fills out a form and they come to a drop-down list field, it would be nice if they had the ability to type into a search field at the top of the list to search the items and get results back.

Much like it works when searching for variables

or like the Chosen jQuery library.

For drop down fields, you can type into the field input to search through the list based on a "starts with" search. For single line fields with options (either from a lookup or configured in field options), you can type into the field input to search any part of the choice.

Is this request specifically about there being a search bar that's separate from the input field? Or are you looking for the ability to search any part of the choice in drop down fields?

Jared, I think it would be best to have both. Currently the way the drop-down list displays, it is not intuitive to the end-user that they can even search the values in the field. The ability to search any part of the value in the drop-down field is huge when you are working with things such as Vendor lists or GL Codes. I'm sure there are other examples, but hopefully, that gives you an idea.

This was added as part of the Modern Forms Designer in Forms 11.

Not sure what you mean by the metadata data cards. Can you be more specific?

Sorry, I was referring to the metadata template to be filled when importing a document into the system.

No, that is currently not available in the same way. This is just for Forms. Laserfiche 12 is on the way, probably next year, so keep your fingers crossed.
