Add the version number to a word document in Workflow

Hi All 

 

Is there any way to  display the version number in the word document ? 

I know this can be achieved with the token option in office integration, but this needs to done through workflow.

Workflow can't write to Word documents outside of merge fields. Also, keep in mind, that Workflow modifying a document under version control would generate another version, so the number would be out of date most likely.
