Client recently switched to subscription license - Login error only for laserfiche web access

asked on September 23, 2020

A client recently switched to subscription license and is using is using LFDS with STS. When a login is attempted on laserfiche, this error is shown.

However, when logging into Laserfiche forms, and THEN accesses Laserfiche, the user is able to access the repository.  Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

Thanks!

Hi Erik,

Can you try re-licensing Web Client by downloading a new app license for it from LFDS and swapping out the license file? Afterwards restart IIS.

Did what was suggested, however still the same issue. I go to localhost/laserfiche and get the error. I got to localhost/forms and login - then go back to localhost/laserfiche and I get in.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Hmm in that case you may want to contact our Support team for more in depth troubleshooting.

What it sounds like is that there is some misconfiguration with Web Client that is causing a redirect to STS without a realm name (or without the right realm name) specified in the URL.

If you visit localhost/laserfiche and take a look at the STS URL you get redirected to, you will see a snippet that looks like this:

whr%3durn%253alaserfiche%253alfdsdb%253amyLfdsSite

If you URL decode that twice, you'll be left with:

whr=urn:laserfiche:lfdsdb:myLfdsSite

where "myLfdsSite" is the name of my LFDS site.

I'm guessing for your system "lfdsdb" does not have a value, or has the default value "lfds" that Web Client uses when it's unable to ascertain the right database.
