Platform: TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1
Customers Affected: Cloud customers using Import Agent, Quick Fields, Connector, or the Windows desktop client
End of support: January 1, 2021
For Laserfiche Cloud customers that use desktop applications with their cloud account, we will be ending support for TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 on January 1, 2021.
End of support means that, as of January 1, 2021, the Laserfiche Cloud system will disable accepting connections using TLS 1.0 and 1.1. Organizations that are not using TLS 1.2 or later will be unable to access Laserfiche Cloud and may see “No response received from the server” errors when attempting to access a repository in Laserfiche Cloud.
Application teams are currently finalizing updates to deprecate TLS 1.0 and 1.1 support. The following applications and versions will be patched so they do not require additional configuration:
- Laserfiche desktop client (including Scanning, Snapshot and the Office integration)
- Quick Fields 10.3
- Import Agent 10.4
- Connector 10.3
Customers using Windows 7, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2008 R2 may also have to enable TLS 1.2 if this update from Microsoft has not already been installed. On Windows 8.1 and higher, no changes will be required after applying patches for the Laserfiche applications listed above.
Our analytics show that only a small percentage of users will be affected. Newer versions of the TLS protocol enable more modern cryptography and are broadly supported across modern browsers.
