Question

Importing multiple files; drag and drop; Saving to the Sub-folder(s) is not possible - - Bug

asked on September 21, 2020

I am in the process of migrating files from a Laserfiche ver 8 to the Laserfiche version 10.4 cloud.  In the past week or so a change has occurred when I import multiple files (more than one file). The sub folder I select only works when importing 1 file; upon placing a checkmark in the box apply to all; the sub-folder I selected reverts back to the main folder.  My work around to select all the files, drag and drop to the sub-folder.  Two weeks ago, this was not happening.

I have snapshotted the before, during, and after screens to show what I am describing.

Is this truly a bug in the system or is there something I am missing?

Thanks,

Tim Hermesch

So far I have not been able to reproduce this as described.
Does the user you are importing as have an Import Profile?
Is there anything unique or different about these subfolders? Such as changed User Rights to the folders.

To give the background to the my question; the week(s) before I was able to to drag multiple file at one time to the sub-folder.  I have my old computer networked to my new computer with cat 5.

In ver 8 of Laserfiche on my old desktop; the steps i follow are:

1. export the contents of the folder highlighted and save on the desktop.

2. highlight the files and drag to the folder in LF Cloud where I want to save them.

With Larry Phelps; Hemmingway Solutions viewing my steps, we noticed that when I have multiple documents to apply the these properties to all imported files; when I put a checkmark in this box on the bottom of the Import document window, the folder changes to the main client folder from client/and the clients actual folder.

Please look at the 3 snapshot attachments to see what I am describing.

Give me a call and we can share my screen as I did with Larry, so you may see what is happening.

Thanks, Tim

I may have discovered why the default folder is Clients in my Repository...I made in Laserfiche Administration - - Clients as my default template for importing.

I think this change is overriding the Browse to change from the default Clients Folder to whichever sub-folder I need for the files being imported.

Would you concur?

Now, I can't remember in Administration how to remove the Client Folder as the default for importing.  Can you tell me where i find the setting and change?

Thanks,
