Workflow - Read XML Source?

The Read XML activity in workflow asks for a Source and just gives you a raw input field instead of a Server Disk / Activity / etc

So my assumption was that it needs to be partnered up with a Retrieve Document Text activity. I then put the output token of the Retrieve Text activity into the XML Source.

But then it says The value of the XML Source property is invalid.

When I am in the Read XML Activity Test window it has an option to load the XML file from the Server Disk and everything works just fine. What should I be putting in the XML source field?

Hi Chad,

If the XML file is in your repository, I believe you can use the "Download Electronic Document" activity, which will have a "Result File" token you can use as the source of your "Read XML" activity. Does that fit with what you're trying to do?

Aha! That worked. The input sure looks like a text only input, not an entry input so I thought it needed some kind of token that contained all the text.

Normally when working with an activity that outputs a file, the selection looks like this:

Then this window comes up where you choose the result file

With the Read XML activity it litterally looks and feels like a text only field, but when I pop that token in there, wa-lah, it works. Thanks!
