Hi,

We have recently noticed that text searches are not returning results when it should. The file in question, is a tiff, pages have been generated, full-text indexing is set to yes, the search term used exists (multiple times) in the text file, and the document is browse-able and viewable to the user searching for the document. Also, other documents in our repository are returned when we broaden the search outside the directory where the the document in question is stored.

I'm not sure where to go from here to troubleshoot this.

Turns out that the search catalog was in read-only mode. I restarted the service and was able to re-index that volume and the search worked. I'll re-index the whole repo over the weekend.

I don't know how long the indexing was borked.

Does anyone know of a way have notification sent when the Index is in an "Unknown Status"?

Hi Zane,

Is this happening for all new documents after a certain date? Say you import two new documents into Laserfiche and generate text on both of them - does a text search work on those documents?

You could try re-indexing the repository, but that will prevent text searches from working on documents until they've been re-indexed. Could take a while depending on the size of your repository. Instructions for this here. Could be something to try overnight.

First, I'll try re-indexing the volume that that record is on. If that works, I'll re-index the whole repository.
