Question

Delete a file and bypass the recycle bin

asked on August 27, 2020

Is there a way to delete documents without using records management and have the documents bypass the recycle bin and be destroyed/purged from the repository?

This client goes through several ways to confirm the files can be deleted before deleting them and they want to avoid having to delete the files, then purge them from the recycle bin.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

If this is for specific users and/or situations, then holding Shift while pressing delete will bypass the Recycle Bin. Note that users need the security privilege to Purge (set in the Admin Console on the user/group) for this to take effect.

If this is for every user all the time, you can turn off the Recycle Bin in the Admin Console.
