Question

Can you set up Forms to automatically add a form to a data source when the form it created?

asked on August 27, 2020

Good Morning All,

I took a quick look through Answers and didn't see anything for this so I thought I would throw it out to the group and see what kind of feedback I get.

Currently, 90-95% of the forms we build need to be attached to a specific data source.  Does anyone know if there is a way that we can set up where as soon as a form it built, it automatically gets added to the data source?

Basically looking for a way to avoid the steps of Administration - Data Sources - Add/remove processes - scroll to find the form.  It would be so nice if all forms were automatically added to the data source as the form is created.

Thanks for any ideas you have.  (currently on form Professional Version 10.4.1.164)

Since Forms 11 Update 1, you will be able to configure access right for data source and the user who has right to access the data source can use the data source directly in the form when create new process.  It is not required to add the process to the data source in order to use the data source.

This is currently not supported. You want this auto add to data source feature because in your organization the user design the form may not have system admin right and they need to contact another person to add the data source to the process?

That would be a reason to have it.  But really I am just trying to save myself the repetitive steps of have to create a form, exit the form, go to administration, go to data sources, pick the source, add the new form, go back to my form and continue building it.  Just trying to streamline a task I know is going to need to be done on 95-100% of the time I build a new form.

Thanks.
