Question

Quick Fields Scanning does not identify documents

asked on August 26, 2020

I have a working Quick Fields configuration utilizing Universal Capture from a network share. There are only three classifications. I have uploaded this configuration to our Quick Fields Server, and it is visible in Quick Fields Scanning. When I begin the scanning in QFS, it spins for a few minutes, then quickly dumps all files into the Document list as Unidentified. Manually assigning a document class works as expected. I have attached a screenshot for both Quick Fields and Quick Fields Scanning showing results from the same configuration.

Of note, my Zone OCR is in Pre-Classification processing, which is what's used to perform token identification on each classification.

Hi Christian, you may want to try this. Go into the Zonal OCR properties and under Advanced change the Single Line setting from TRUE to FALSE. What this will do pick up all text in the Defined Box as opposed to just the first line. What I have found that in some cases when the Box is larger than the text I'm looking to capture, the first line may be blank or other characters from the line above what you are attempting to capture

All of my OCR zones are set for multi-line. The configuration works great to identify documents in standard Quick Fields - it is the Quick Fields Scanning app that is not identifying the documents.

Good thought though!

What do you see logged to the messages pane in Quick Fields Scanning? You can enable the messages pane by going to "View" in the top toolbar and selecting "Messages Pane".

The messages pane has no messages (not very useful, is it?).

Hmm. In that case I'd recommend opening a tech support case through your solution provider so that we can take a closer look at your specific session.

Hi Christian, Did you get this figured out?

I am having the same issue. When I scan in Quick Fields everything works as intended.

When I open the same session in Quick Fields Scanning my session does not work as intended.

Am I missing something?

I did notice that it works correctly when I select the document class from the drop down under scan.

But, why would I need to do this in QF Scanning, and not QF?
