Question

How to find documents or folders with no fields?

asked on August 17, 2020

I've looked at a few similar posts but the solution isn't working for me so maybe I am doing something wrong.

There was an error in a previous process that cost the loss of Meta Data on several folders. All of the Folders are under Company\HR\Employee Files.

From what I have figured that "{[HR Employee Document]} - {LF:LOOKIN="NVIH\Holton Testing\Employee Files"}" so it SHOULD find everything within the LOOKIN and find the items without the "HR Employee Document" template, however it just shows items with the template and not without.

The syntax also doesn't really seem to care about the minus or the & symbol as "{[HR Employee Document]} & {LF:LOOKIN="NVIH\Holton Testing\Employee Files"}" brings up all of the same documents and folders.

What am I doing wrong?

You have it backwards. The part after the minus sign is what you want to exclude.

{LF:LOOKIN="NVIH\Holton Testing\Employee Files"} - { [HR Employee Document]}
