Question

Workflow Designer- Connecting to WF Server as WF Default Connection profile and getting errors/warning when trying to validate a WF

asked on August 13, 2020

Hello,

We have a customer who has WF Designer installed on their Computer that connects to their WF Server.

They are able to edit WF's, but when they go to Validate it throws Multiple Errors/Warnings:

Error-"At Least one Field Value must be specified if the Template isn't being set"

Warning-"Token cannot be resolved"

If they log onto the WF Server, there are no errors/warnings when running the Validation of the WF.

I am not sure what permission could be missing as the Default is also WF on the server.

Appreciate any feedback,

Jeff Curtis

This is not a permission issue. Since you're saying that the user edited the workflow, the messages sound correct. Double-click the error and it will take you to the activity that's misconfigured. Check that you are setting field values. Similarly for the token warning.

Hello Shule,

We tested on the user's workstation and validate throws the errors and warnings.  We test with the user logged onto their LF Server, with same permissions, and validate throws no errors or warnings with the same WF.

Possible issue with the WF Designer install?

Appreciate the feedback,

Jeff Curtis
