Forms are stuck in Email notifications step

asked on July 28, 2020

Any ideas on why a submission would be suspended with a business process of submission to email notification step?  There are only two steps in the business process.  I tried different users to receive the notification and no luck.

Have you configured Forms to send email? Assuming an on-premises system, the FormsConfig page is used to set up the email server and has a test to make sure it's working.

Additionally, the Event Viewer might point you in the right direction. You can see relevant events from Forms in the Monitoring area when you highlight the instance that suspended.

Is the event viewer on forms or forms configuration?

Forms in the Monitor tab.

I don't see that option.

That could be a permissions thing or dependent on the version of Forms you are on. Either way though, in the Event Viewer on the Forms server you should be able to pull the same messages from there.

This is usually caused by either an invalid email address or the value for the email address is blank.

What types of users are you using in Forms (Repository users, Windows Accounts, Authenticated Participants, etc.)?
