Question

Forms- How can initiator track progress? How can comments be displayed in email?

asked on July 22, 2020

1. How can an initiator track progress of their form after they submit? They want to be able to see which step their form is currently at.

2. How can we display the comments in the emails? Are the comments an actual variable that we can add to the emails?

1. Is this an internal form or a public form? For an internal form, the user can go to their completed tasks list, find the submitted form, select it and view the action history. That will show where the form is in its process. For public forms, the user will not have direct access to the action history. You can configure emails to be sent to a provided email to update them after each step.

2. Comments are only available in the action history and the monitor page to record why a specific decision was made. If you want to include comments in an email, you should create a comments field on the form and use that.

Jared, with the default Comments box being so limited, can you make showing/hiding it a task option? Currently I have to use CSS to hide it, and I almost always do that since it doesn't get tracked as people would expect (doesn't show up on the form in LF, for example).

1. It's an internal form. I'll have users check their completed tasks.

2. Ok, that's what I thought but wasn't sure if it was made available to add in the emails.

Thanks!
