Question

Is it possible to initiate a Docusign process in Docusign and get the send back

asked on July 16, 2020

Hello,

A customer looking at the integration possibilities asked if a docusign workflow can be initiated on the DocuSign site, and have the send back feature still work with that process? I'm only aware of the process where the document to be signed is initiated in Laserfiche and sent out for signatures, and then the completed and signed document is then uploaded to Laserfiche using the send back feature. Could someone please confirm if a one-way integration is possible to utilize the send back? Thanks in advance.

Using the DocuSign Web Import Service (that is part of Laserfiche's DocuSign Integration) you can set up a DocuSign Connect Profile that returns any envelopes Sent/Signed/Voided/Declined by All DocuSign or Specified DocuSign Users.

When an envelope is actioned by a user named in the DocuSign Connect Profile, the envelope can be stored by outcome (e.g. signed, voided etc) as defined in your web.config (specific details are available in the Laserfiche Help Guide).

But for example purposes, returning documents for users named in the Connect profile could be stored like:

  • MyRepository/DocuSign/%UserName/Signed
  • MyRepository/DocuSign/%UserName/Voided
  • MyRepository/DocuSign/%UserName/Declined

This does not require (that I know of) the Request Signature functionality to be enabled (at the user level within Laserfiche Web Access) in order to work. But it will likely require the "DocuSign Integration" under Web Access Server Configuration to be turned on and configured.

Hope that helps.
