Potential Bug: Date of 12/30/1899 Populating When it Shouldn't

asked on July 2, 2020

I have two Date fields, DateA and DateB. DateB is set up with a formula of =DateA. If DateA is populated with a date, it carries over just fine to DateB, but when looking at DateB before DateA is populated, instead of being blank, it displays a date of 12/30/1899. Is this a bug?

It behaves like this currently, do you expect it to be blank instead?

Sorry for the delayed response! And yes, that makes more sense. I can't understand why a field set to equal a blank field is populating with a value, one that appears to be some sort of arbitrary "default system date" value.
