New Employee doesn't maintain Manager role

asked on June 23, 2020

We have a new employee taking over and I've been updating our forms so that she'll receive all the appropriate emails/ notifications/ tasks going forward. I've completed all this, but they still are not seen as a manager for certain people. The form process is that an employee will submit a request to their manager for approval before moving onto the next step. All other managers are working/ being registered as managers and can move forward in the forms workflow, but our new employee can't and the form gets suspended. When I go into Monitor to check what happened I cannot restart the workflow. The error message reads "Retry is not available for any steps in the selected instances."

How can I update the employee-manager relationship for our employees? We have a windows user director, is it found within here?

If a user task is suspended because it can't find the specific user, you can reassign it from the tasks list or click the instance to open the instance to reassign the user task.

Forms doesn't support retrieving the employee-manager relationship from Active Directory, you can maintain the relationship in a database and use lookup rule to get the correct manager when the employee filling the form and populate the value in a hidden field and route the approval user task with the field variable.
