No rights on a document even though inheritance is on and full access given

Hello,

We have a odd situation where we need to move documents out of a folder but the modify contents right is not assigned and even though we assign all rights to a super user the effective rights show them as not assigned. What am I missing? Where can I check where the rights are not assigned? Admin also does not have rights? There is no deny assigned.

One reason you could see this is if there is a security tag assigned to the entry you're checking security on but the super user hasn't been granted that tag. If that's the case, you can assign the tag to that user in the Admin Console, log out, log back in, and you should be good to go.

Have you checked if there are any filter expressions?  Check the filter expressions of the folders in the path of the document as well as the document itself.

We had something similar happen the other day. The User was in a group that was specifically denied access via a NON-inherited security right. We had to re design a couple of our groups to make way for this.

 

Also, check your VOLUME rights, something we miss when not managing Laserfiche very often.
