Document looks all garbled with drag/drop

Sometimes when dragging an updated file into LF - it overrides the saved file in LF but the whole doc looks garbled when opened (.TIF image)

Any ideas as to why this would happen?

When you drag in the file, is it a tiff or is it an Office document? If the latter, you extract pages from it, and this is the result?

Document is received via email, save it back as a pdf. Drag to LF, sometimes it seems to happen for updated docs, I re-save the pdf back and overwrite the existing file - then drag. Thinking maybe it is after the docs have been electronically signed by another entity and saved over that it happens and I need to re-print to my saved pdf.

So the document itself is a pdf, and when you import it you generate image pages from it, and the image above is what those pages sometimes look like?
